All of my etudes begin with an inspiration about someone. I close my eyes, think
about them, and the melody comes. They are referred to as etudes because an etude
is meant to provide practice for a particular technique or skill (and I need all of
the practice I can get). This carries over to people, since every person is unique,
each etude I've written has a different play technique.
